First time in a needessentials wetsuit and I love it way better than any other suit I've warn and feels like it will last. I purchases the MT my only advice would be to make the legs a bit longer as I am 5'11" and they could be a bit longer. If you guys offered a ST that would be perfect for us lanky people. All in all I will be only wearing needessentials suits from here on out!
3/2 Steamer fits and works great!
Stretchy and warm. No issues. a little flushing in crotch but not consistent. It might be that I am a weird size. I bought a MT as my height makes me a tall but my chest/waist are medium. I was worried if I got a medium that it would be too tight. For a first suit, I think it's a great value and looking forward to more sessions in it.
Great suit at any price
This is my 3rd needs essential suit and it's good. Very good. Over the past few years the improvement in Needs quality has really come up, this one is on par with a custom 4/3 that I had made last year. Super flexible, good seams, great neck seal. NO issues with any of the stitching at all which is rare. The price might be budget but the quality of materials and workmanship is anything but cheap. I won't hesitate a second to pull the Needs trigger for my next suit.
Smelly, Good Seal, Warm
First impressions: out of the plastic, the wetsuit smells, so it must be off-gassing. The wetsuit is warm and does not flush, except for larger waves or when waves are not taken head on. Dries quickly. Seems good value wetsuit thus far, one month in and numerous surf sessions.
So far so good!
Ordered on a Friday, suit arrived on Monday: Great fulfillment. The suit did have a really strong rubber/petro smell to it initially, so assuming it was pretty 'fresh' from the factory? It faded to a 'normal' new wetsuit smell after a few surfs. Seams are good, no leakage. Thermo lining is great, keeps you nice and warm. With booties (and water temps around 58-59) I'm almost sweating after catching a few. Was worried about the chest zip hardware at first, it sits kinda close to my shoulder, but with the way the neoprene panels are put together, I don't notice it at all in the water. Neck is great, no flushing even on bigger days and a lot of duck diving. Leg cuffs are a ~little~ loose...ok for now, but not sure how they'll hold up after a season of use. The MT fits perfect (6'1", ~180lb).
