I'm reviewing my new 3/2 backzip need essentials wetsuit; it fits well and worked great in a recent cold-water upwelling. It stays light and flexible well into a surf sess, that limestone based ***-prene works super. Hopefully it will hold up, only time will tell. So far, though, I can tell you the price was great, the customer support done on-line with amiable alacrity, and the suit delivered in spades out in the ocean. A minor caveat: it gets hot if the water isn't cold enough--that, of course, is an accolade. I bought a 4/3 for winter.
This suit is awesome for the price. The Limestone rubber is supple and high quality. suit is easy to get on and off, and keeps me quite warm for long sessions in northern CA. For winter surf or people who absolutely hate being even a little cold, I'd step up to the 5/4. I started wearing this suit around new years, and combined with a tucked in hood was quite comfortable all winter, but the extra mm would help. I have a similar "M**use" wetsuit this is just as good for a fraction of the price. Dries pretty quickly and the the cut looks great - people ask if its a custom Japanese suit. I also really appreciate the no logo no branding thing. Ive been wearing this suit for 6 months of regular surf ~3 times a week and it's holding up great. One little tear from a fin but thats not the suit's fault. Seems are all good. Chaffing is rare, but only happens if I do a 4 hour + session. It occurs at corners of back lining flap near shoulder blades. This is inevitable and doeesn't really hinder my review, just sharing my experience. The only other thing i would say is the zipper gets caught on the inner flap when zipping up sometimes I tell everyone to buy these suits, and I will for sure be buying the 5/4 hooded when it gets colder because I've been convinced by this one. Hats off to needessentials. keep up the great work.
Made with attention and quality. Have owned them all. This one stacks way up there with the most expensive. For the price, you can't beat it. I will surely be being more. A skinny 6'2, I got the medium tall. Fits like a dream. Keeps me warm. No water flushing whatsoever.
great customer service, well priced suit, never get cold in it. A couple seams are starting to peel away and the glue gets slightly melty in the sun but it should last me through winter.
