Best for $
You only need the essentials, a split toe stretchy boot. I like a booty no thicker than the thinnest part of my suit and ibwear it a size small to have closer contact with the board and keep the water out that can add weight. Loving these 3mm boots in Humboldt with the hooded 4/3 and occassional thin gloves. I believe in the essentials.
Its a good basic boot, the strap is better than Excels
I have a weirs narrow heel, So I often end up pulling the straps tight. this is a big wide strap that doesn't un-do mid session. My excels have these narrow useless straps that you have to tuck under your suit to keep from coming undone. The build is pretty straight forward. Welds are good, no rubber parts that look like they will unglue. I would buy the 5 mils if they weren't split toe, too cold here in NYS for split toes in the winter.
Comfy, high volume
The boots are super comfortable and high quality. The fit is a little higher volume than I'm used to and I do get water inside, but it hasn't been a problem. I think the bigger issue is the loose leg cuffs on the wetsuits (which Need has addressed I believe). These are the most comfortable boots I've worn and highly recommend.
I’ve warn these twice now and they are Awesome! I am a size 8.5 in Vans so originally I ordered a size 8 in the bootie. Wore them around the house and they were just too tight. I returned them and went up to a 9 and they are much more comfortable. Yesterday rode my bike down to my spot on Tamarack they were great on the pedals and in the water my feet felt like they were in a jacuzzi! Great Products! Thank You Needs
The boots are durableAnd warm they’re perfect for the Central Coast and navigating all the rocks in the water. My only suggestion is that they had a way in which they could drain water . They can become quite heavy when they fill up
